The short version: no cookies, no analytics, no tracking, no ads. If you type your birth year, only your browser keeps it. I see nothing about you unless you write to me.

Who is responsible

This policy covers this website, soqrasi.com. It is published by Mourad GHAFIRI, a private individual, who is responsible (the “data controller”) for the little personal data described here. You can reach me at contact@soqrasi.com or contact@mouradghafiri.com.

What stays in your browser

No cookies, no tracking

This site sets no cookies. It has no analytics, no advertising, no social-media buttons, no embedded videos or maps, and no third-party scripts. The font, images and scripts all come from soqrasi.com itself, so opening a page sends nothing to Google or anyone else. The GitHub and X links are plain links: nothing is loaded from those sites unless you follow one.

Your birth year

When you type a birth year and press “Show my weeks”, your browser saves that year on your device, in its local storage under the name soqrasi:birth-year, so the field still shows your weeks when you come back. It is one four-digit number. It is never sent to me or to anyone else: your weeks are counted by your browser, on your device, and I have no way to see them.

To remove it, press “Clear my weeks”, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings. If you never press “Show my weeks”, nothing is saved.

Saving something on your device is covered by the EU ePrivacy rules (in France, article 82 of the loi Informatique et Libertés). They allow it without asking for consent when it is strictly necessary for a feature you asked for, which is the case here. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to.

A possible exception from the host

If the security systems of the host, Cloudflare, suspect a visit is automated, they may show a short check and then store a cookie named cf_clearance recording that you passed it. Cloudflare classifies this cookie as strictly necessary for security. It does not come from my pages and is not used for tracking or advertising.

What the host logs

Whenever a browser asks for a web page, the server receives some technical information with the request: your IP address, the date and time, the page asked for, your browser’s user agent and the page you came from. This site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (United States), which processes this on my behalf, as my processor, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse and attacks. I don’t use it to identify, follow or profile anyone, and I don’t combine it with any other data.

  • Purpose: delivering the website and keeping it secure.
  • Legal basis (GDPR): my legitimate interest in running a working, secure website (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Retention: only as long as Cloudflare needs it for these purposes, as set out in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

When you write to me

If you email contact@soqrasi.com or contact@mouradghafiri.com, I receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. I use them only to reply to you and, if we decide to work together, to prepare and do that work.

  • Legal basis (GDPR): steps you ask for before a possible contract, and then the contract itself (Article 6(1)(b)); for any other message, my legitimate interest in answering it (Article 6(1)(f)).
  • Retention: no longer than 12 months after our last exchange, unless we work together and the law requires me to keep records for longer, such as invoices.
  • Storage: my email provider stores the messages on my behalf.

Please don’t send sensitive information, such as health details, ID numbers or passwords, by email.

Sharing and transfers

I don’t sell, rent or share personal data, and I don’t use it for advertising or profiling. No automated decisions are made about you. The only recipients are the two service providers above, acting on my instructions: Cloudflare for hosting, and my email provider.

Cloudflare is based in the United States and runs servers worldwide, so server-log data may be processed outside your country. For data leaving the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Cloudflare relies on its certification under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and its UK and Swiss extensions), with the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses as a fallback. My email provider may also store messages outside the European Economic Area; any such transfer relies on a safeguard the GDPR recognises, such as an adequacy decision or standard contractual clauses.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask me what personal data I hold about you, and ask me to correct or delete it. Write to contact@soqrasi.com and I will reply within one month. I hold almost nothing: your birth year never reaches me, and server logs don’t tell me who you are. Tell me what you are looking for and I will help as far as I can.

Europe and the United Kingdom (GDPR)

You have the right to access your data, have it corrected or erased, restrict its use, object to its use (including use based on legitimate interest), and receive it in a portable format. You can also complain to your data protection authority. In France, that is the CNIL (cnil.fr). In France you can also leave instructions about what should happen to your data after your death.

United States

I don’t sell or share personal information, and I don’t use it for targeted advertising. The site behaves the same whether or not your browser sends a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal, because there is no tracking to switch off. No third party collects information about your activity over time or across websites through this site. California residents can review and ask me to correct their information as described above.

China (PIPL)

If you are in mainland China, the Personal Information Protection Law gives you the right to know about and decide on the handling of your personal information, to restrict or refuse it, to access, copy, correct or delete it, and to ask me to explain these rules. To use any of these rights, for data held by me or by Cloudflare (whose role, purpose and data are described above), write to me at the address above.

Children

This site is for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. It asks no one for personal information: a birth year typed into the field stays on the device it was typed on. I don’t knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has emailed me, a parent or guardian can ask me to delete the message, and I will.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, I will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top.
